Ah, the good old times...

I think they did the right thing. On one hand this was often a curious, ragtag assortment of useless items (like mirrored, turned versions of existing items, deco stuff). People absolute loved to furnish houses (later design them) and display their "collections". I still remember the rune libraries; in one house I found a fake piano (don't ask...)
In a way that created an adhoc market of antiques, not designed, but welcomed by the design team anyway (another facet of this were the annual gifts - true black color elusive and dear, sounds familiar?

)

If items were already tolerated a long time, any change of policy without good reason will hit a lot of innocents unnecessarily (like people who traded for them). Outlaw them? Ok, but when the appropriate bug is fixed, not months after.

If this guy was truly an Admin wouldn't his chat be Purple? Looking at this screen shot, and sense the color is off, you can still deduce that its green, which is whisper color of chat. The guy obviously not a part to the Anet team of admins. Basically if the chat color is not Purple or yellow like Gaile's is then I would ingnore anyone telling me they were an admin.

I got scammed for a couple of K at the weekend, (my own stupid fault for be so trusting), by someone who after I contacted him in game said he was admin.

I have 8-10 screenshots, which I decided in the end not to report but after reading this thread I will send in the screenshot where he states to be admin.
